It’s quite normal to hear parents and educational care gives ask “What kind of educational toy is most ideal” In my experience, there is no one single answer to that question. But there are quite a number of tips and suggestions that can put you on the right track.
The best way to start this search is to first define what an educational toy is. Basically educational toys are things meant to be played with, that relax, provide entertainment, and at the same time, gradually teach much needed skills, knowledge and abilities to children. Ok now that we have that defined, let’s move on.
There are quite a number of things that need to be taken into consideration when picking your infants educational toy. You need to:
Pick toys that are appropriate for your child’s age level – You need toys just right for your infant because if the toy is too easy, your child won’t be learning anything. And if it’s too hard, the child just gets frustrated.
Pick toys that are light weight. Well obviously you need a toy that you child can pick up and play with.
Pick toys that have multiple uses. Some toys are fit for different age groups, and can be used as the child grows older. Such toys are good to have.
Choose toys that catch the attention of children. Toys that produce sound are great ideas for this, they keep the child interested.
Kids love colours, so pick coloured toys. But not just any colour, contrasting colours help stimulate the senses.
Finally, pick toys that you can play along with your infant. Believe me there’s no better way to get to bond with your child than being able to “hangout” so to speak with them while they play and learn.
